Overview

Estate Rentals Vacation Homes is a comprehensive platform designed for American tourists visiting Israel, offering a seamless vacation experience through a combination of luxury accommodations, bespoke catering, and dedicated driver services. The client approached us with a vision to create a platform that not only provided high-end vacation homes but also simplified the logistics of a luxurious, all-inclusive stay in Israel.

Identified Issues

The primary goals were:

Create an easy-to-use platform where users could find and book vacation rentals in popular Israeli destinations, such as Jerusalem.

Incorporate additional services like gourmet catering and professional driver services, allowing tourists to enjoy a stress-free stay without having to manage multiple service providers.

Ensure seamless user experience for American clients, with intuitive navigation, fast booking, and clear service options.

User Needs and Solutions

Additional Services

The client wanted to ensure that the website clearly communicated that it offers more than just vacation rentals. It was essential that users, upon visiting the site, immediately understood that they were being provided with additional services like catering and driver options, not just accommodations.

Solution:
After conducting research and exploring different design options, I implemented a solution involving interactive expandable sections. These collapsible boxes clearly indicated the availability of services beyond just rentals, such as catering and a dedicated driver, ensuring users recognized that this was more than just a typical property rental site.

Key Property Information at a Glance

Need:
The property cards needed to present essential information at a glance, so users could quickly assess whether the listing met their needs before diving into more details.

Solution:
I designed property cards that provided key information right at the top, ensuring an intuitive and efficient browsing experience.

1.
The price is displayed prominently to avoid any confusion and make it easier for users to compare listings.

4.
Tags were incorporated to highlight key features such as “New Property” or “No Pets Allowed,” giving users a quick understanding of important property attributes at a glance.

2.
Additional information such as the number of beds and the location is clearly presented to give users a general overview without needing to click further.

3.
Each listing also includes details on the property host, showing the name or a picture of the host. This can help users decide whether to explore more, especially if they recognize the host or feel a connection.

Catering & Driver Services Pages

These pages were designed to showcase the additional services offered by Estate Rentals, beyond just accommodations. The Catering page allows users to browse and select gourmet meal options delivered directly to their vacation home, while the Driver Services page provides easy access to booking a dedicated driver for tours and transportation throughout Israel. The goal was to make these services easy to find, select, and book, enriching the overall user experience and making their stay more convenient and enjoyable.

Conclusion

This project taught me the importance of understanding client needs and translating them into a seamless user experience. I learned how crucial it is to present not just the core offering (vacation rentals) but also highlight additional services (catering and driver) in a clear and intuitive way. Through research, prototyping, and user-focused design, I was able to create a website that meets the client’s vision while enhancing usability for American tourists visiting Israel. Working on this project reinforced the value of user-centric design, strategic thinking, and the need to make complex services easily accessible online.
