Overview

Individual lesson the gap between students struggling academically and teachers with available hours, streamlining scheduling in schools. The application uses intelligent algorithms to match time, subject, and grade level for efficient booster lessons, eliminating the manual work typically done by school staff.

The Challenge

Designing simplicity for two diverse user groups

The primary design challenge was creating an interface that felt intuitive for tech-savvy teenagers while remaining accessible and non-intimidating for less tech-comfortable teachers. The design needed to balance professionalism with youthful appeal, ensuring it wasn’t overly formal or childish. Additionally, the app required simplicity to handle complex scheduling tasks Without making it difficult for the users.

The Challenge

The old design

The old design of Individual lesson app looked outdated and was hard to use. It made scheduling frustrating and confusing for both teachers and students.

The process

Understanding users, competition, and workflows deeply

Before I started designing, I conducted thorough user research to understand the needs, pain points, and expectations of both students and teachers. I analyzed how similar applications work to identify what could be improved and what users were already familiar with. This helped me grasp the challenges of scheduling and design a solution tailored to their workflows. My goal was to ensure the app was intuitive, efficient, and enjoyable for both groups.

One step

Typography /colors /icons

I chose colors, typography, illustrations, and icons to create a cohesive design that fits the educational concept. The goal was to make the app visually appealing yet age-appropriate, balancing simplicity and professionalism for students and teachers.

  • Illustrations: Educational-themed visuals that are engaging but not childish, appealing to both teenagers and adults.
  • Colors: A harmonious palette that complements the illustrations, with black and gray tones for clear, readable text.
  • Icons: Clean and simple icons with slightly rounded edges, ensuring a friendly yet professional appearance.
  • Typography: Rubik font for its readability and modern, clean style, making it suitable for Hebrew text.

Step tow

Creating Variants and Components

To streamline the design process and ensure consistency across the application, I began developing variants and components for key interface elements. This included designing interactive fields, buttons, status indicators, and navigation bars. These components were built to be adaptable, catering to the diverse needs of students and teachers. Each element was designed with usability and aesthetics in mind, ensuring a cohesive experience that aligned with the app’s educational purpose.

In conclusion

Designing, matching and everything in between

From this project, I learned to prioritize user empathy by balancing simplicity for teachers and engagement for students. I discovered the importance of streamlined communication to ensure alignment between design and implementation. Additionally, I honed my skills in creating adaptable designs, integrating user feedback, and focusing on ease of use for a diverse audience
